Values-based Education was founded in 1993. I have written a history that sets out how the concept of VbE came about, how it was put into practice and how it has developed.

The history will be of interest to anyone studying or researching VbE, anyone who is deciding whether VbE is right for their school and anyone who practices VbE today. It will be of particular interest to anyone involved in examining the purpose and potential of education to provide students of today the skills and dispositions they will need for the rest of their lives in order to create a sustainable, peaceful, harmonious world for the future.

I recently caught up with Professor Terry Lovat recently in Australia.  It was Terry who with Newcastle University in Australia conducted the a comprehensive research program, which looked at the effects of introducing Values Education. He is in no doubt what we need to do! He says that it is the answer to the global problems in Education!
